I have not investigated any yet, this just sounds odd. I think I may know what's going on.

CEL came on at the same time the water pump started draining onto pavement. P0137, P0138, P2270 (stuck lean), P2271 (stuck rich), oddly enough 2 entirely different fix suggestions.

 

Wow !! it does sound odd.

 

I don't know what fixed it, but .... I released the pressure on the fuel rail and then popped the injectors out of the head, then replaced them. Didn't even pull the rail all the way out, just pop off pop on. Light has stayed off for about 50 miles now.

Well, the end story is my HHR did not make it to 300,000 miles, it gave up at 294,301. I am now the owner of a 2011 HHR with 44,000 miles

 

Bummer, but Congrats on the newer one !!
