Here's the fuel pressure test. Let me know your thoughts guys.
Car had been driven for a 25 min ride home. Then sat in the drveway for 1 hour before testing.

Key ON no Start= 55psi
Key ON no Start= Fuel pressure begins to drop steadily. After 15min of Key On no start Fuel Pressure at 30psi
Key On RUNNING= 60psi (car stumbled a little on startup, then smoothed out. No variance in fuel pressure at gauge)
Key OFF for 10 min after running= 55 psi
Key OFF for 15 min after running= 51 psi

Let me know wht you think before I start tearing things apart on Friday morning.

 

 

Keep in mind the pump only runs for 2 seconds with engine off.

 

I do not have a scan tool that will activate the fuel pump. Nor the specialty tools mentioned here.
But based on this information here, and the test info I've provided... Do you agree that the fuel pump is within proper operating specs?

 

Turning it on with the key is close enough, the special tool is the gauge.

step 1 passed
step 2 start at 7 monitor pressure for 1 minute
if it decreases more than 5 PSI, it is an injector
if it does not decrease more than 5 PSI replace the pump.

step 3 unknown
step 4 unknown

Thanks for breaking that down. I've planned to work on this Friday morning. So tonight, I'll get it in the garage, and check it from 7psi for dropping in the specified timeline.

 

I can tell your 100% right now, that with the Key On engine off that the pressure drops more than 5psi in one minute after initial prime. You can watch it drop quickly.
Key off the pressure does NOT drop more than 5 psi in one minute.

 

I meant part 7 of step 2 not 7 PSI.

Well, it decreases immediately and quickly with Key On Engine Off. Indicating Fuel Injector issue.

 

List of repairs this weekend. Still have the hard start condition. It is ONLY when it has sat for hours. Like overnight. And you need to tap the gas pedal to get it to start (Don't ask me why, it just helps. If you just hold the key it will take quite some time to get starter). Either way, It will stumble for a couple seconds, then smooths out. The remote start does NOT work to start the car when it's cold.

Fuel Injectors and Isolators- This slowed the dropping psi with Key On engine Off. Engine Still sluggish on start.
Spark Plugs- I was there, why not.
EVAP line- No change
Fuel Pump- No Change

Now- even though the hard start issue is still there. The car does run much bettter after it's been started.
Any thoughts what to look into now? Currently there aren't any codes, but during the process I did have a P0172 code still pop up once. (It erased itself after the battery disconnect)
