"could be" a lot of things.

My point was that the computer program needs to be updated if you out the new part number injectors in, that will require a GM dealer service department.

So just to sum it up once and for all: I could swap in a set of new injectors in about 20 minutes but I'll still get the P1174 code, if I'm understanding correctly? Unless I get it reflashed at the dealer?

A pity too since injector replacement is super easy on this engine.

IF you install the new part number injectors the ECM needs a new set of injector tables.

If you know a way to get and insert the new programing other than a subscription to TechNet (I think that's the right name) you could avoid the dealer.

Yeah, hence the dilemma. The injectors aren't very expensive and they're easy to replace, but I suppose I should go all the way and get it done right.

Eh, I still haven't done the ignition switch recall, so now I have more of a reason to take it in.

My issue I believe is excessive blow-by, having had a catch can inline between the valve cover and throttle body, i have discovered a lot of moisture accumulates in the can over a few months, how I discovered it was taking off the oil fill while vehicle is running, i have a bunch of vapor, too much i think, plus i have some film build-up on the inside of oil fill cap, oil consumption is 1qt per 500 miles, still to come: compression and spark plug check, and also removing valve cover. 108K total miles,
