Mine would happen every time I turned off the car with the XM on, so I was able to duplicate it for the dealer (actually it scared the girl that was driving it off). It took about 15 minutes or so for them to have it fixed. I didn't have the bleed through from the blinker, though.

Radio Pop

My dealer fixed mine using the Tech Service Advisory LINKED BELOW. Depending on the dealer they might need to order the download software (takes 1-2 days at most). Let me know how you come out. kcps1150

Radio Fun

The radio in our 2lt occasionally makes a popping noise (sounds like the amp turning on) just after the car starts. I am aware of the TSB regarding popping, but it specifies that the radio pops during cranking (this is in all caps on the TSB) The dealer has been unable to replicate the problem, as it happens only occasionally. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, has it been resolved?

Mine did the "pop" thing a few times, just printed the TSB told them about it, gave them a copy and they fixed it.

shakakan, I merged your thread with a previous thread on the same topic. You may want to start at the begining of this thread to get caught on this radio popping problem.
I hope this helps!

Heres how I fixed my radio from the pop, easy fix, remove your stock head unit and replace it with this...

and you'll never have the pops again

When you bring in your car to the service consultant, you will need to describe to him, word for word, the description from the TSB. This way, he will write it up, as you described, and send the car back. The tech will read the description and try to match it up to the TSB logs.

This will ensure that they apply this infamous TSB. Most service places are sensitive when the customers simply ask them to apply a TSB. Makes them feel like they do not know their own product.

Anyway, since my reprogramming, I have not had any "POPS"..

I'm glad to read all of these notes. The first time I heard it, I thought a stone had hit the side of my Sunburst Orange HHR. I pulled over and went all over the car looking for a ding/stone chip... Nothing.... My HHR has XM radio.

Tell the dealer you want the tsb performed. If you have problems with them find another dealer or call GM direct and complain.
