power steering shut off

Happened again yesterday at a stop sign. Glad I have an appointment tomorrow to have it fixed!

shutting the car off and restarting seems to make it Ok for a bit.

The motor has a thermal fuse in it. I don't know if the problem is defective fuse or the motor actually over heats. Many early failures were replaced with the same defective part.

Today in 104 degree heat, it got worse. About 5 min between incidents so I turned around and left it at home and took the Kid's Jeep patriot. Not the same as the HHR but it will get me to work and back..

made it to my appointment with no issues, They had it repaired in about 1/2 hour. Hopefully that takes care of it. Dealership was very friendly and easy to work with. I am impressesd!
