proper way to install oil filter ?

AC Delco PF457G, I order these 6 at a time, change them every oil change at 6,000 miles or 10,000 kilometres.

May be silly of me, but for the extra $3 per oil change, I buy the one with the cap. Eliminates one variable.

I don't know... My '07 has the original cap. What are you guys doing to ruin one between filter changes?

Ditto Greybeard: My 08 also stilll has the OE cap, not to mention the OE O-ring.
