randy hhr (DRL lenses melted)
Having my front turn signal lenses melting, with the O.E. bulbs, they are on as long as the engine is running. I just turned 100,000 ks and they are the original bulbs, so its not that they are getting to much voltage. If enough of the owners complain in mass to G.M. we should have them repair the problem . I now have a dime size hole in the middle of the lenses and plastic dripping down on to the bottom of the housing. This and a replacement shifter Which I now know should have been covered under warranty are the only major problems I have had with the HHR. I love it and still enjoy driving it, I purchased it as a demo with 17000 ks on it so we have been together for quite a while.

I am guessing that you have a 2006. They changed the DRLs in 2007 to low power low beams. The old Euro DRL required ambers, if I remember correctly, so GM added them as an afterthought.
You might be able to get them to switch to the new system.

to the forum!
Here's a thread on the issue dating back a few years, it never seemed to be a huge problem on the '06's but they're the only year affected.

You may want to talk to the service manager at your dealer.
