Well just heard back from Chevy dealership. They want to replace my steering column and they also said I have warped rotors that need replacement. The steering column of course is covered under warranty, but the guy said that it would $160 to replace my rotors. Shouldn't the rotors have lasted longer on a car that is not even a year old?

Rotors should have lasted longer but as far as warranty goes they will usually pull the "brakes are a wear item and not covered" routine.

Told them to move forward on the steering column replacement but hold off on the rotors. If indeed I am going to have to have them replaced on my dime, I am going to have my father in law, who is a mechanic, do the work. My hope is that they are aren't actually warped that they are just trying to make some money while my car is in for warranty repairs and then I won't be out anything in the end.
