Holes in the cat will result in carbon monoxide in the cabin. No just unhealthy, dangerous. Fix it.

If it’s the OEM cat the scrap value will help pay for a new crappy one. If it was really ok maybe a good welder can patch up the damage.

Blowing the fuse for the power steering... perhaps there was an incorrect jump start. That could certainly fry the fuse block.

I don't care what inanimate objects "say". I do care what they output, i.e. the CODE NUMBER. Code readers "say" what some Chinese speaker thinks the translation of the title of the OBD test is and it rarely means what you think it means.

Putting information in the title of a post, it usually gets overlooked, as it is very small font, and it's not expected that a post would have a title.

So while going over everything else I decided to do a battery and alternator test with my code reader and it says my alternator is bad and putting out too much voltage

Let us know if replacing the alternator resolves the issue.

I will thanks.

I just want to say I feel somewhat disrespected by some of the responses on here. I know I'm not a mechanic and described my issues the best I could. Sometimes a mechanic doesn't seem much different than a lawyer these days. I have been doing my own mechanic work since I've owned a vehicle for that very reason. I'm not savvy with the electrical stuff or transmissions but I can do everything else. Yes I drilled holes in bottom of my cats, not first time I've done it. My vehicles are never inside as I live in the country. I don't make 20 + an hr, I work on a farm growing your food and raising that steak you love to put on the grill. We are the lowest paid people out here, so I do what I gotta do to keep bills paid, a roof over my families head and food on the table.
. I completely respect what yall do here, hence the reason why I came. I mean no disrespect just felt yall needed to know this. God bless yall and thanks
