Welcome to the site, if there is a check engine light the remote start work.
It could also be the battery in the FOB

Welcome!

Does the fob unlock/lock the doors?

Is "AP3" listed on the sticker on your glove box door"

You must press lock 2 times then RS.

Any engine fault codes will inhibit RS.

Hood open/unlatched will inhibit RS. There is a switch in the hood latch that sometimes gets misaligned or broken.

An online Owner Manual is available through the link in my signature.

If your check engine light is "always on" then the remote start will not work until you correct the situation and get the check engine light off.

As to reading the codes, all cars now have OBDII and use the same kind of scanner.

Welcome!

So you are saying that your HHR runs on propane?

The codes donbrew mentioned have to do with the 'check engine light'. So if your 'check engine light' is on, the remote start will not work

The sensors and computer are calibrated for gasoline, whoever modified it for propane skipped that step. So the check engine light is on. Remote start will not work if the check engine light is on.

A fob is that thing with the remote control buttons on it.

FOB = PILOT = REMOTE CONTROL (like in tv)

So i i wll have to calibrate it for LPG wit LAMBDA swap. But nevertheless You suggest that when my check engine is not lighten up the remote start should work ?

Yes my HHR run on LPG and it works superb! The power loss is ~5% on STAG 300 PREMIUM but cash savings are more important. In Poland this is a common thing to do cause the gasoline price is very high, compared to US/CAN, as i was calculatin its about ~4,5$ per galon as for Your calculations, i dont know why You dont use LPG, its safe eco and money saving

EDIT 24/07/2017
TODAY THE FOB battery died

hello

im on the starting engine from remote thin again.

Does anyboudy have a sheme of car eletrics responsible for this option ?

I think that the guy that insalleged the LPG cut wired the REMOTE ENGINE START thing to keep the LPG runnig.

So i have go by the wiring diagram to see where he made the modyfication so my electrician can plug the LPG on other place.

The check engine and the hood adjar is not showing on the dashboard anymore

I think that he made a mestake someware over here
