remove trim plate holding window and mirror switches 2011

on the drivers door the trim that holds the window switches and the power mirror switch. I want to remove the trim without removing the door panel. there is a small hole at one end of the pocket where the two screws are. I understand there is a tab there that secures the trim along with the two screws. does anyone no how to dislodge this catch thru the small hole

Remove the 2 torx screws
use a screwdriver to push the catch forward
There is a finger in the front

Under the trim plate. Be careful not to scratch the door panel.

I removed the screws and pushed where the arrow was showing. It did nothing. I used a plastic trim tool where the arrow pointed and hit the end of the trim tool with my hand a couple times. Then the trim plate could be removed from the door panel. There is no catch to push on. It's a solid plastic piece. I broke it off while tapping on it using the trim tool. The trim panel lifts out easy, so you can replace any of the switches.

Wouldn't have broke it if you popped the door panel off, a little more work but less breakage

I know, I like to skip sets in a process to repair something to, like removing the upper motor mount to change the timing chain, that worked out.
