Replace Front Power Outlet?
Forgive me if this has been asked/answered before. Tried searching but I don't have time to look at every thread that says 'outlet' in it as some of you know we had twin girls 7 months ago and it's hard enough to get on long enough to type this question.
Recently I unplugged my GPS from the front power outlet and the whole outlet came out of the dash. I believe there's a couple of clips that are supposed to hold it in but they snapped.
Does anyone know if there is a part number or relatively easy way to get a new outlet and put it in myself or do I need to take it to GM?
Is there a thread about this somewhere?
Thanks all... miss you guys/gals!

The outlet itself, costs about $5.00 from the dealer. There is also a retainer, that fits on the reverse, for about $4.00.
Maybe this will help......items 9 and 10.

Its pretty easy to remove the 'waterfall' from the dash. Since you have torn the original socket out by the roots you may have to build up the plastic so it will hold the power socket again,
If it were me, I'd look around at some hardware stores and maybe some automotive stores to see if I could find one of the old tyme cigarette lighter sockets and install that instead of the new type with all the plastic in them and reinforce the plastic dash panel or maybe try to make a solid metal bracket to hold the power socket that actually attaches to the under dash but allows the socket to stick out enough that it lines up with the hole in the plastc waterfall.

I ended up having Chevy fix this while I was there getting an oil change. Took them just a few minutes and cost me $35.99 total for the hassle.
I had a clip break from the plastic ring that holds the assembly in the dash.
