I thoght about getting an air compressor for bicycle tires, etc., and it says the power outlet plug needs to be at least 15 amps. I can't seem to find the rating stated anywhere including the online manual. Anyone know what the rating is? Thanks, Rick.

 

I don't know what the raring is but I have used a small automotive air compressor with my 2010 and I have had no problems.

Its a 15 amp fuse, but I think you could shove a twenty in there., or tap the battery with some alligator clips

 

Rick- X2, 15 amp. I do have & use a compact air compressor for auto tires, works great & no problems.

Got it at auto parts, bout $14.

 

Thanks, both. I was considering another that has alligator clips. I do have one now with the fitting that clamps onto the valve stem which can be a little troublesome. the other two screw on. On the other hand, the one I have can be set to shut off at a set psi. I guess I'd be smarter to just save my money.

 

Look at this thread https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/general-hhr-4/panel-rear-power-outlet-same-power-plug-36845/ You have a panel, so why not use the 40amp wiring behind the cigarette lighter type plug? You could hard wire it in and not have to use the alligator clips.
