Seat Belt Rattle at B Pillar Anchor Bolt
Does anyone else have this rattle? I pulled it apart and looked and can't nail down what is rattling. It's perplexing (which is one step above stumptifying.)
It think you will find it it the head liner.
The headliner attaches right over the b pillar and sounds as if it was the seat belt.
Just hold up on the headliner above the seat belt pillar and you may find it goes away.

I have had this rattle in both of my HHR's. The culprit is the piece that covers up the rectangular slot on the adjuster. It rattles because there is nothing behind it at that point. There is a track it rides in and it stops on the back side about 2/3rds up the track. Took me only 4 years to track it down.
My fix was to take the screw out from behind the cover that says "airbag" , then pull the trim piece back and put a piece of closed cell foam behind the flat piece that rides in the channel and then put the screw and cover back.
This has worked so far, but it has only been a couple of days.
Hope this makes your ride even better as the evil rattle is gone.

Thanks Daniel, I'll give it a shot. It's definitely at the adjuster. I can tweak it around and stop it but I couldn't nail down what was happening. I'll give it a try!
