Good point.

I think Goodrich quality improved after Michelin bought them. Might be the same for the other brands.

My 1st Goodrich tires - around 45 years ago? Were already pretty good then, possibly the reliably best brand. But out-of-round, out-of-balance tires were the norm for tires because U.S. manufacturers of all sorts were still puking out any junk consumers would accept. Anything beyond good enough was a was of money to three-martini lunch drunken execs, who blamed all problems brought by their inept management on unions.
