SS fan motor not working.
A little advice.
I recall a thread from a ways back. Seemed the owner was having problems with his SS fan not working. If I remember correctly, he went as far as getting a new fan assembly but was still having problems.
His problem turned out the be a burnt wire or fusible link that is right near where the harness plugs into the fan module.
This may be something you would want to double check when you're in there swapping fan assemblies.

Dorman parts are OE quality, if not identical. The bits I have got had the same casting marks.
Dorman is a "Like Kind Quality" supplier to the "collision market". Most likely the supplier if an insurance company was paying for the repair. And the SAME as Advance/Zone/O'Reilly.

I think this is the thread I was refering to:
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/arch...p/t-36954.html
It is an archived thread. About half way down it mentions the melted or burnt connector.

Hey firemangeorge,
I had given that thread a slight read
Guessing by the fact that we tested the connector and it had power I'd believe it's not the connector.
However I appreciate your concern and I just fully read the thread.
The part came in the mail today so upon removal I will give the wires/connector a look for anything melted or burnt.
Thanks again and wish me luck that the fan kicks on when all is said and done

Thanks again everyone we installed the fan motor and everything is working perfectly..
My only complaint about the dorman fan motor assembly. Is that the connector does not "click" and lock in.
So we zip tied it just to be safe.
Tested the old FMU and it clicked on that one just fine.
