Starter stays engaged

THE MORE YOU KNOW! The one time I "accidentally" did that I was surprised that the car started. Never knew my accident was the right way to do it! And if the new ignition switch is "holding" the key in the start position...... Yeah sounds like an immediate fix is in order

Lubrication?
There have been several reports here of botched installations of the recall. They seem to give the job to the newest kid in the shop and then rush him. I was lucky, the guy only forgot 1 of the tabs on the cover.

I'm sure that's very true. I've been around cars and trucks all my life. I've seen and heard all kinds of stories about service screw ups. There are very few true mechanics left. I'm not a pro by any sense of the word, but I can fix a lot of issues. That's why these sites are so great for asking opinions

Yes RJ it sticks in the start position for a second or two, only once then will not do it again till the car sets for a period of time.

On a side note, I have been starting my car as per donbrew instructions ever since reading this. The engine starter seems to ony make a noise once and the engine turns over in less thatn a second. I then tried it the old way and held the key and the starter actually turned twiceand the engine took about a half second longer to start (rough estimate I wasnt using a stopwatch). Seems to like starting donbrews way more I would say!
