According to that reply, I'm also wondering if their "Technical Engineers" have ever seen a Chevrolet.....

Can you imagine if every repair transaction happened that way?

"We'll get around to fixing your car as soon as someone drives in with a working one for us to compare it to... "

I would think GM would be concerned with how such dealerships make their brands look to the public.

Actually I've talked to and met Margret, she is a very nice person and her 1970 Chevelle SS is a ground pounder, I can confirm she has seen my HHR at the 2011 Chevrolet Power Show!

I'm kinda stumped why this is an issue at all - the OP knows it locked before the recall work, and knows it doesn't lock now.

So ending a query to GM to confirm it doesn't make for any progress at all. Take it back to the dealer seems to be the obvious thing to do, and show them your owners manual.
