I read TFM!
I never said anything about locking the door with or without the fob .
try this go sit in your car put the key in the ignition, open the door I bet you will hear chimes. Take the key out and the chimes stop?? Mine DON'T!! Until I close the door. I'm not locking the door with or without the fob just opening and closing .
I have jiggled and wiggled the key and steeringwheel no change.
the key does not seem to be as snug in the ignition as my truck.
The list of things that make them chime was posted a few pages back.
If you have a Tech2 or equivalent here is the test procedure, you can probably figure out how to use a VOM to do it.
Here is a pdf of the anti-theft circuit, I would check all of the door ajar switches including the lifgate. They all switch to ground, a test light should be good. anti-theft circuit.pdf
Bail bud, go through you DIC and check the auto lock is on or off.
I don't recall an auto lock in the DIC it does it when shifting out of park, it quit for a bit then when I had the battery disconnected for a bit it started working again. I do have a auto unlock with shift to park or key off
The remote start won't work if a door is ajar or not locked, that is the reason for the Lock, Lock, Start sequence. Or some hidden OBD codes or the hood ajar switch
I am not sure if the door locks send the ajar signals or if the courtesy light switches do that. Another place to look.
