No love from GM ,was told if the lock cylinder was a faulty part it would have failed within a year. It was replaced may 12-2014 Was dinging in early 2017 when we got it . There is special coverage 14632 key stuck in ignition but don't have that issue.
guess I will be ordering a lock cylinder

You should order it from GM with your VIN or learn how to code key cylinders.
I think what they actually meant was the replacement had a 1 year warranty.

Some dealers were doing customer satisfaction repairs before the recall and some people were buying cylinders and replacing them. The recall included part numbers from Autozone and other stores. If you order one from ebay chances are you will get New Old Stock (pre recall).

The procedure was supposed to be
1. you make an appointment
2. the dealer orders the recall kit for your VIN from the factory
3. you wait a month or so for the parts to arrive
4. have the dealer install.

If yours was indeed done very shortly after the recall announcement, I would be assuming they used parts on hand. Receipts and part numbers would be handy.

[QUOTE=donbrew;883811]You have maintained that it dings all the time; now it is just when the drivers door is open.

The Owner Manual from my sig is digital; you don't need to

Take it back to the dealership that did the ignition recall work.

The switch is more likely the culprit, but do this in steps to confirm the issue is resolved.

Well I replaced the ignition lock cylinder no change .
I guess I'm back to square one.
I have been sitting in the car playing with switches and noticed that there is no different sound in the chimes with the headlights on or off or auto or on .
New development, the doors are no longer auto locking when it's put in gear however that may be a different issue.
