Sudden shutdown while driving

Driving home from work yesterday, started up a short, steep incline, and the car turned off. Everything: lights, engine, dashboard. I quickly pulled the e-brake and put it in Park, at which point the dash lights came back on and I was able to start it and continue on. No other incidents in the next 20 minutes of the drive. No recent electrical work. Has this happened to any other HHR owners? Could this be an indicator of a failing part? What parts could cause this?

Sounds like maybe the ignition related recalls. There's a link in my signature to check your recall status.

Already got that handled. Maybe the replacement is faulty.

Probably too heavy. I'm removing the key & fob from everything else while driving from now on, just in case.
