Too rich bank 1 PO174 code
A code P0174 may mean that one or more of the following has happened....
The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled.
There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.
The MAF sensor connection is loose or the wiring harness is damaged.
Possible solutions include.....
Cleaning the MAF sensor.
Checking for a loose connection or damaged wiring.
If your code was a P0171, that usually points to a bad oxygen sensor, but P0174 codes are almost always MAF related.

OK Jim, after getting some clarification from JoeR(Thanks by the way
), and digging into this a bit more, double check the code being displayed.
P0174 being displayed on an HHR is spurious, but its more likely that you might have a P0171 or P0172 code being stored.
Those are system rich or system lean codes.

Thanks for the info. My wife's 2011 started it today with the P0172 code. It showed it twice with the second showing a Pd symbol next to it on my CP9125 code reader. That puzzles me. I reset it and she is out driving it. I'll do some cleaning and checking even if it doesn't come back.
