Yes I know this is discussed in many forums but I feel bad for those that gave up due to the answers.... I have a 2009 WITHOUT a FOB that I can put in "Learning Mode". Amazon has a TMPS Relears Reset Activation Tool OEC-T5 For GM Models that I thought would work. After watching the HHR videos, it appears everyone uses the lock/unlock on the key fob. What about us that don't use a fob? Most answers to this point just advise those that ask the question to "Use their Fob" Here is a clear question... Can you put the HHR in "Learning Mode" without the fob?

 

Clear answer : NO
You can get fobs with programming module for less than $50; but be sure to get a genuine GM fob, some of the fobs that come with the programmer don't do the relearn.
The bonus is you probably already have remote start installed.
