Can Dorman Programmer be used for non Dorman Key fobs?
I bought a dorman programmer awhile back and easily programmed the included fob. I lost that key set and only used the programmer once. I'm curious if I buy a non dorman key fob and try to use the dorman programmer, will it work? It would cost me $10-15$ rather than the $58-$70 a new dorman fob/programmer set would be. Just trying to do my due diligence with my frugality. Any help or input is greatly appreciated!
I figured if the key fobs are all made to replace the original equipment, they would have the same frequencies, correct? Or might dorman's fob programmer only being to program for dorman key fobs?

It is the CAR that is being programmed, therefore if the fob is compatible with the cart the answer is yes.
However, experience has been that some "cheap Chinese" fobs don't woprk properly. These seem to the ones that have an LED on the board. Genuine GM fobs generally cost about $15 on eBay.
Keys have absolutely nothing to do with the fobs.
