My car started missing again today and the engine light was flashing. I went to Autozone and they pulled code 0300 as primary and P0128 and P0352 as secondaries. I do have a new thermostat coming as that code had been showing intermittently for a while. What am I looking at as possible culprits for the other codes? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I forgot. The car is a 2007 with the 2.2l , auto, and 273,000 miles.

 

P0352 is the cause of the P0300. It means that the control circuit for coil #2 has a problem.

Start by switching coil #2 and any other see if the P0352 moves. The 2 means cylinder #2, if it was P0353 it would be #3 etc. Cylinder #1 is closest to the passenger side. If it does move you need a new one if not it is a wire problem.

The P0128 is either you did not use a AC,Delco 131-158 t-stat or the tempsending unit has a problem, either a wire or a bad sensor.

 

Thank you to everyone. I had this problem before but that time the wire had pulled off the coil but I had bought a new coil and had it sitting on the shelf. This time the plug seemed like it was on tight so I just swapped out coils and it is back to full song. As for the thermostat I haven't changed it yet but have the proper one coming for that. Does anyone have any pointers on how to replace it that are relatively painless? Thanks again everyone. I still love my HHR even though there are still lots of haters out there.

Here's my tip: tape your universal joint so it doesn't just flop all over except where you want it to go! I didn't remove any hoses, but I did back the big clamp out of the way.

 

Any way you do it you will end up with at least one scratched up knuckle, pain ensues.
It is just 2 bolts, but they are well guarded.
