Trying to get remote start working

I've got an '08 LS with factory remote start. I bought the car used a year ago. I have had it to the dealer once about this issue. They said that I had door lock actuators not working right so the remote start wasn't working because the car isn't seeing the doors as being closed. I finally replaced all 4 door lock actuator motors per the thread by Snowhite in the how to guides. All 4 doors lock and unlock perfectly now, but the remote start won't work. The car has remote started a time or two before and I know the keyfobs are programmed correctly. Remote start is on in the DTC. I also checked and there are no trouble codes stored in memory whatsoever. When I hit the lock button and then hit the remote start button, I get absolutely nothing. What do I look at to figure this out?

Any chance the contact for the remote start is dirty/worn out? You can test it by pulling the fob apart and manually "short" out the contacts for the remote button on the circuit board with something metallic like the end of a pen.

You mention, ".....hit the lock button......". You do know that you need to hit the Lock button TWICE....right? Then the start button, for a second or two (I generally hold the start button until it starts).

There is a safety switch on the hood latch that will prevent remote start if the hood is open or the switch is bad, wire broke. Might want to check that.

You also might try panic+lock to check the fob. Panic+Lock is the same as Start but different contacts under the buttons.

I did know about hitting it twice, but didn't realize that you have to hold down the button for a few seconds. Oh well, I feel stupid. She fires right up. Thanks.
