Thanks but seeing I am at 54k the basic warranty is over and I never really put it in the shop. It always started working when I was about to take it in.

I am going to go to about 70K and get a new something as I don't like to go much past that.

It works about 90+ percent of the time and I guess I can live with that.

If they were to come up with some kind of recall or software update I might mess with it.

I can always fall back to the P2 player.

Angry

My USB had worked fairly well since my last post until about three days ago and it will not work at all now.

I just typed in "Chevrolet USB Port Problems" in Google and they are having this problem with everything across the chevy line all the way up to 2012 models.

You would think they could come up with a cure by now.

I guess a CRV or Tuscon is going to be setting in my driveway shortly.

What has your dealership's service guys told you about what is going on with your vehicle?

They offered to take it in when it started but it would always start working before I could get it in. When I told him about all the instances I had found on various Chevrolet vehicles he downplayed it as being just a small percentages of the vehicles sold. He is probably right about that but that doesn't make it any better for the person that it is happening too.

I drove around some this morning and it worked great and probably will for a few weeks.

My wife is kind of wanting a softer riding vehicle so as it is approaching 70K I will more than likely buy a new one.

I completely and honestly understand where you are coming from about it working and not having the service department look at it. However, you should have been treated with the same respect as an owner that goes to a dealership that has to have his engine replaced. You are all important to me.

Do you have any ideas as to what your next vehicle will be? I am not trying to come off as a sales rep or anything. I am just curious as to what you might being looking at to replace the HHR.

I hope you are having a great weekend.

I typed in everything from GM to Rolls Royce and got a bunch of hits on USB problems.

I guess it is hit and miss on all of them.

I probably should just use my P2 player through the RCA jack and be done with the USB port. The only problem is all the wires hanging everywhere.

I guess I shouldn't be so cheap and get one with a hard drive built in.

Sometimes after using my USB in my 2010 Malibu the radio will starting flipping back and forth from radio to aux, very rapidly.

I wack the usb on the radio with the palm of my hand and it stops. I believe this is the same radio as what is in the HHR.

Mine just switches to the radio and pressing the aux button gives you the "no aux or usb". I have felt like beating the crap out of it but since I beat my last laptop to death I have learned to control that urge.

Made a three hour trip yesterday and the USB worked flawlessly. Go figure.
