Valve time or cam

The way I understand this is the cam notch’s on cam without the vvt sprockets on it should be at 5 intake and 7 exhaust tdc . My exhaust is at 12. The intake is in right spot at 5.The valves are closed lobes pointing up. Question is can cam snout move, is it a press fit that can move.

First off prior to the poll,

What year?
which engine?

and really no poll needed, the camshafts are solid steel.

ALL 3 marks need to line up to worry about timing! If you are replacing the timing chain just line up the marks, don't think too much.

FIG. 136 is for something else. The keys that line the sprockets to the shaft.
The marks on the sprockets should be at 11 and 1 with the crank mark at 5:30 (all times approximate).
