Weird Oil Leak "help"

Hello, I’m kind of new here, posted once. I have a 2008 HHR 2.4, auto trans runs good with approx 140K. Here the problem I noticed a oil leak a few months ago. Checked everywhere I could. Power washed the engine. It did need a new valve cover gasket. So I decided to also change out the Timing chain and water pump but I still have this oil leak.
I found out it’s coming from the upper and lower block half's seal just above the starter (not from the oil sending unit). Has anyone had this problem if so other then pulling the engine, how do I repair this. Thx in advance.

Is the leak enough to worry about? Are you experienced at rebuilding engines? Would putting some RTV or epoxe on it work?

From what I just researched, it looks like a very rare place to leak , there isn’t any oil passages thru that area of the block or the girdle .
Now it does appear to be the two can be split and cleaned and reseated with RTV But not in place the transmission would have to be removed and the engine also.
Thats not to say supporting the engine removing the oil pan and unbolting the girdle getting just enough space to clean out the old and squeezing in new RTV is possible. Just a royal pain with the AC compressor, the alternator and starter in the way.
Im thinking a good cleaning and a thin layer of RTV right along the seam might stop the oil from seeping thru.
seeing as there is no oil pressure there.

The pic I posted was the lower half of the case, note the bearings. If you are going to "crack" the block might as well do a full rebuild. Like an air cooled VW.

Agreed or try cleaning the leak area and applying RTV on the seam . Hope it works

Stupid answer. Check the pipie where oil is beaing put neart the engine air filter (on the top of engine) Other thing, what is the oil reak beacuse the oil missing near 1 liter for 2000km(?) Is normal according to the manual (in engines above 100k miles) im adding 1,5 liter after 5000 km 5w30, i renew the oil every 12k km, my chevy has 230k km passed)

I have the same problem at first I thought it was the oil pan gasket had taken its toll. And it sure did. After i cleaned it up and replaced the gasket seal alot less oil is leaking but still leaking. My dad says "well at least you know you have oil"
