Wipers making squealing noise

Hello all,

I noticed today that my wipers are a little slower and are squealing. Wondering if this means my linkage needs to be replaced or if its just a part I can grease/change.

Before assuming the worst, check the blades first. Worn out blades will squeak and create extra drag, you might get lucky and find that your problems can be traced to a couple strips of knackered rubber.

..... and if you find that the blades are ok, here is a link to a How-To article on how to replace the wiper motor and how to take the wipers and cowl off to check the linkage for the wipers: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/how-fix-wiper-transmission-32975/ (pictures are partway down the thread of the linkage, so scroll a page or two).

Get a glass polishing kit to clean all the wax off the window, clean it with alcohol then apply Rain-X or similar product and you won't need wipers.
