Be aware that the lower control arms are available as a cast piece or in a fabricated steel design. The Cast one is for the HHR's - the fabricated steel ones are for Cobalts I think (but they will fit apparently). Stick with the cast ones. :)

here is a How-to article on replacing those lower control arms......

The LCAs can be an easy job, I'd replace the sway bar bushings while the cradle is loose.

Good point on replacing the sway bar bushings at the same time - they are a bit of a pain to replace, but why get your hands dirty twice. :)

FYI - a couple of people have had problems reinstalling the massive bolt that secures the rear of the LCA to the cradle/body, but hopefully it will go well for you. If you want to save big $'s you can just replace the bushings themselves (<~$20 ea.), but you pretty much need a press to do the re & re of them.

I watched a YouTube video where the guy used two different sized hole saw blades and a length of threaded rod to press out old bushings and to push back in the new ones.
I used my air chisel to remove and a pair of sockets in the bench vice to press the new ones in.
Next time just new LCA's
