I will say though 2.092 for a 60' is about the best I can muster on street tires.
Nice runs! I am also on the fence with buying slicks.....not sure if I want to spend that much money on them....I got vacations I want take and stuff. I think I'm just gonna baby the street tires at the line and learn as you said.....9.56 is the best I could do last summer...was impressive but the 60' time was 2.4 seconds

Talking

At the track today, for the 1st time this year...

https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil...0njiuslbh.jpeg

My only change from last year, is a more aggressive torque curve.

1st pass @ 3:05pm = 12.84 @ 105.71
66 degrees , DA is bad, @ 1,900 , & there's a 'head' wind also today, killing the mph.
Slicks broke loose & spun, slightly , shortly after leaving the line, when full boost hit.
This caused the ECM to 'pull' back on the throttle, giving me a slight 'bog'.
Not a lot of 'rubber' on the track yet, but I will lower the slicks by 1lb, to 14psi,
For the next run.
With the DA the way it is, I'm just hoping for 12.6s today...

2nd pass @ 4:45pm = 12.74 @ 106.76
70 degrees , DA @ 2,200
Just a touch of wheel spin off the line, with the ECM nanny pulling some throttle.
I'm going to try 'comp' mode next run, to try & stop the ECM nanny pulling some throttle.

3rd pass @ 8:05pm = 12.71 @ 106.38
64 degrees , DA @ 1,750
Long delay as 2 cars broke engines, with long track clean up times.
So, this run was the 1st round of eliminations, & I got the WIN...
The guy that I raced popped a freeze plug, causing another mess...
I forgot to put it in 'comp' mode after my burn-out...
Scanner log showed that I didn't spin, but the ECM nanny still 'pulled' some throttle back, at launch...

4th pass @ 11:15pm = 12.82 @ 106.89
57 degrees , DA @ 1,300
Creeped thru the tree & relighted as I was 'boosting' up, on the line.
It was over 3 hours since my last run & the brakes where so 'cold', that they couldn't hold the car at the line.
I checked the 'log' , & NO ECM nanny pulling throttle after the launch, while in 'comp-mode'...

Great runs with that type of air.
You definitely where off by a couple tenths wit that air.
I actually thought the air would be better yesterday.

Good pass autometer.

Good to see ecopowerss posted his 12.8 @111 mph
On drag times.comhttp://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-H...lip-25548.html
If anyone else is interested dragtimes.com
Is an excellent place to post your pass it also stacks your passes with other Hhr owners.
I know I have misplaced a time slip or two on my stude in the avatar but was able to find it there.

Test-&-tune day at the track today.
Not too many cars.
Round-robin, can get lots of runs today.
Air is really bad today.

I'm trying a different 'tune' today, that is excellent on the street.
Also got a Shorai battery, saving 28lbs.
http://www.batterymart.com/p-shorai-...n-battery.html

1st run 12.58 @ 107.5
DA = 2,200 @ 11:30am
Tried a 3,500 rpm launch , wheel spin, with 15lbs of air in the slicks.

2nd run 12.44 @ 108.25
DA = 2,300 @ 12 noon
2,500 rpm launch , very little wheel spin, with 13lbs of air.
It felt like a perfect launch, smooth, with light 'hazing' of the slicks.
At the top end, the traction light was on with chimes 'dinging'.
I think the traction control system was modulating the brakes,
thinking that I had a flat tire, or thinking that I was losing control ???
New best:
1.8129 60'
7.93 1/8 mile
90.16 1/8 mile MPH
12.4456 ET

3th run 12.44 @ 107.66
DA = 2,400 @ 12:36pm
I didn't change anything for this run.
Got me a good bracket racer now, with back-to- back 12.44
I wish that it was a race day, instead of test-&-tune.
Either the bad DA , which is getting worse, or traction control on the top end, is killing my MPH.
New best:
1.8122 60'
7.92 1/8 mile
90.34 1/8 mile MPH
12.4442 ET

4th run 12.42 @ 108.51
DA = 2,400 @ 1:27pm
My only change was a 1 hour cool down, instead of just 30 minutes.
It really likes 2,500 rpm launches , with 13lbs of air in the slicks.
New best:
.005 reaction time off the line.
90.67 1/8 mile MPH
12.42 ET

5th run 12.43 @ 108.12
DA = 2,500' @ 1:58pm
Only a 30 minute cool down.
It really likes to have a one hour cool down, but doesn't lose much with just 30 minutes.
Still silky smooth down the track, until the top end, with just 13lbs of air in the slicks,
it's a little strange, with the ECM traction control, trying to keep things straight ???
Still 1.8s for the 60' Time , & 90+ MPH , at half track.

6th run 12.39 @ 108.33
DA = 2,500' @ 3:10pm
One hour cool down.
Awesome...
Felt really really good going down the track.
New best:
1.78 60'
7.88 1/8 mile
90.62 1/8 mile MPH
12.39 ET

12.25 is what the DA correction factor calculator shows, if I was at sea level, DA = 0

The track just kept getting better, as the day went on. The DA just sucked all day.
Nice & sunny, makes for a hot track.
Also lots of rubber was put down, as the day went on.
By putting the slicks down to 13lbs, I noticed that the whole width of the slick, including
1/4" down the sidwalls, is making contact with the track.
I'm thinking that 13lbs is too low for my 7" wheel width.
I really need to do some mods to keep the front from lifting, during launch,
as a low 13lbs in the slicks, is too squirrelly, on the top end.
It handles way better at 15lbs.

Great runs 2005 congrats on the new best times.
Makes me want to buy a HP tune setup more and more.
Guess that puts you solidly as the quickest 1/4 mile Hhr ss to date

Best 2 runs of the night (test n tune)
1/8th mile
.6879 r/t
2.16 60' (best ive ever had)
9.06 ET
78.94 mph
20 psi in tires

.8641 r/t
2.29 60'
9.18 ET
78.83 mph
17 psi in tires

these runs are the best I have had. Its the best track prep Ive seen too, mostly because it was NOT cruise night.

one other note, I ran a 9.99 ET UNTUNED.

Then the night was over and I got 29mpgs on the way home....this car can't be beat in all around versatility

These are with brand new, soft tires...

I am assuming you ran at Lancaster?
Not bad at all considering the air density was not anything great
A little over 2000 foot above sea level.
