It's funny - like many others here I bought the HHR primarily to get better mileage. Even during the test drive I was thinking "Hmmm...No power, - but at least it'll get good mileage." But after you get a few miles on her and get that ecotec broken in - MAN, what a rush!

I love this car...

I have fun all the time in I gear. it is amazing what you can do with it. there really isnt a road in the DFW area w/o cops that i would try over 100 with it... but next road trip in the boonies in Okrahoma and i am there.

try it in a big parking lot in the rain. go to 1st and the TC is gone and still more fun

anyone try 0to 60 and 1/4 miles in I gear and in D?

people are shocked how this lil HHR hauls in it with me.

I'm on Hwy 75 between Dallas and Oklahoma on a daily basis. I stretched it out and I only get to 108 before the speed limiter kicks in darnit. Waiting for Hyper-Tech to come out with something to releive that issue. I have one on my Silverado and at least it peaks at 128. I don't really have a need to go much faster than that! ha

I tried to hit this 118mph the other day, like most of you. I also have the manual trans. I was travelling on a fairly flat road, on the San Mateo Bridge, which spans about 9 miles, where about 7 miles is really flat. I opened it up on the flat section of the bridge.

Well, I could only reach 104ish mph. Perhaps it was the wind factor, as it was really blowing hard that evening. I was alone, so it is not a weight factor. I think I am gonna have to try it again soon.

Fast

Yea, 100mph, plenty fast, and was surprised at how fast it gets there. But did feel sorta squirrly at that speed to me, and it is the 2LT auto. I stopped at 100...... bought this for the gas mileage soo 75 mph is about 1 mpg less than 65,

I just made my first 400 mile trip last weekend. Got in a line of traffic going 80 mph. We stayed that way for about 2 hours. A couple of times I saw 100 on the speedo. She really was smooth. I love this car.
