So my weekly check engine light came on , P0332 knock sensor. Does anyone know where this is located, and is it easily changed? (09 SS Manual)

The knock sensor is just above the starter, check for a loose connection first

and torque it down to 25 N.m or 18 lb ft as per shop manual if you need to replace it

I think the LNF has 2 Knock Sensors. P0332 in #2 (11 in the pic) If you care to test things before throwing parts at it I may be able to help. It would be strange for one to break, they are basically electret microphones.

Here is the testing procedure:

Numbers 7 & 11 in this:

It does have 2. I've not heard of one going bad, not to say that they don't. As suggested I'd check the wiring.

Do you have to access this from under the car?

Wow, 4 years later!

Haynes says to remove the alternator for access to the front knock sensor.

I took the starter off again. I was wrong about what I saw last time. Its not a knock sensor. I cant see a way to get to either of the sensors from the bottom of the car.

What do I need to remove to access bank 1 sensor?

I'm assuming that's the sensor behind the oil filter? Could I just get an extension and swivel in there?

Well I got the driver side knock sensor swapped out. Those little extendable mirrors really helped. Here's some pics of how I got in there. Hope these could be of some use to other people. The sensor is located just behind the dipstick tube (correct me if this is incorrect, I think it might be a brace bar) and the oil pressure sensor.

I used a 1/4 (2/8) ratchet with extension and swivel. You can identify them in each picture for location reference.

The new oem sensor was 1/2" and the old sensor was 10mm

This is the first time you've posted in this thread, did you mean to post in one of your threads?

There is only 1 bank on an inline engine, so both knock sensors are bank #1. I don't know what code you have, so I can't comment which sensor is giving you problems.
