Plugs don't look that bad, You could try closing up the gap and see if helps at all since you have them out.

Randy, if you can, take an oil sample and send it out to a lab. That can tell you something. I know there is no base line to compare to, but it might show higher levels of fuel or coolant in the oil.

I'm thinking it might be losing oil too quickly/ smoking too much, to be valve guides. If it is the turbo leaking that badly - if it's on the intake side, all cylinders should be misfiring; if it's on the exhaust side, would not cause misfires or fouled plugs.

What other path could oil be reaching the exhaust?

The misfires would probably be injectors in this scenario.

Valve guides and valve guide seals, I’ve gotten away with just replacing the valve guide seals on a couple of SBC’s over the years, my sponsor didn’t like an oil cloud smoking race car.

So valve guides could suddenly start leaking a lot of oil?

The misfires have been there before the oil loss/smoking.

Is there a way to determine if it's guides/seals?

I was young and energized, I just torn the heads off, and changed the seals.

That's a good thought, Richie, I'm considering it.
