All you have to do is make a post in the thread that it's sold or not selling now or whatever. Admin will then close it. Or you can always PM me. Or you can do what you did and open a thread to close a thread.
So do you want your "for sale" ad deleted or closed? Did you sell?

A person can't delete his own post ???
I don't get it...Sorry to complain but why on earth would I not be able to DELETE my own post at anytime for any reason I choose?? After all it's my post right so what's the reason you won't allow all of us to delete are own posts ???

For a certain period of time after you start a thread, I believe you can delete it on your own by clicking "edit". After an extended period of time, the "edit" button goes away and then you wouldn't be able to. I'm not exactly sure why you can't delete it later on. Maybe because after a while, if a thread gets a large number of posts/replies from other members, valuable information/resources would be erased, and then others wouldn't be able to use or benefit from that information. Not really the case for Classified ads, but you know what I'm getting at. For example, if the OP of one of the popular how-to's (such as the factory fog lights how-to, for example) decided to delete their thread, some members would be very disappointed because useful information would be lost.
