Okay, Tim has announced the accomodations:

So, on to other accommodations:

Two nice hotels are working with us on a group rate. The first is:

Hampton Inn
Located in the heart of Gatlingurg. Most of the rooms with queen beds are on the side of the hotel overlooking the creek. King rooms have a fireplace but do not have a creek view. Some queen rooms with fireplace as well, but these do not have the creek view.
Queen room (2 queen beds) overlooking creek: $107.10 (regular rate of $129)
Queen room (1 queen bed, sleeper sofa, fireplace, no view): $116.10 ($139)
King room (1 king bed, fireplace, no view): $116.10 ($139)

The second is:
The Bear Skin Lodge
Located just a short walk south of the main drag in Gatlinburg.
**Waiting on group rates for this location.**
Itinerary:

Friday 24th: Dinner on your own. Go Karting - details to be announced
Saturday 25th: "Tail of the Dragon" Cruise", Park Meet at Mynatt Park with vendors set up, Group Pictures, and Award Prizes. Dixie Stampede Dinner Show at 6 pm. Tim needs to know if you are attending the dinner Adult price - $36.01 Children - $20.61

"Dear Mr Current, this is the Smoky Bear Campground. Back in Dec. you sent us e-mail, looking for place to stay for the HHR group. Did you find the place? If not,

We have openings that weekend and we will offer you 20% discount, which is real good for 5 star rated park. Hope to hear from you and have a great day. Chong O’leary, owner/manager." smokybearcamp@comcast.net

So if there is any interest, please let me or Chong O'Leary know.
For anyone who needs a place to stay during the Gatlinburg rally... when I was making reservations for camping during the rally in our RV at Smokey Bear Campground also has three cabins that might still be available for the HHR rally.

Their reply... "Greetings, all our 3 cabins are open that weekend, it is no problem to accommodate. Thanks, Chong".

If you are interested, please contact them directly. Let them know that you are coming for the HHR rally and they may still offer a discount.

Best regards,

David

Trying to negotiate a place with the hotel -- also a place to wash HHRs.

When this G2G was first announced, we had nearly 30 people respond that they would attend. As we've gotten closer, I've received many emails and PMs telling me that they cannot attend. A lot of this is due to the current economic climate. There are people who have been laid off or cut back. I know that I'm not in as good a position now as I was -- concerns me a little about spending the money to spend 3 days in Gatlinburg. But I believe we will have a good turn out.
