2009 HHR Gatlinburg Get-2-Gether
While I'm a new member here, I'd be there in a heartbeat. I'm heavily involved with another car group that has an annual meeting in Pigeon Forge around the 4th of July. Like others mentioned, Gatlinburg is VERY crowded during the spring/summer. Not to say Pigeon Forge isn't crowded, but you can move around and cruise. Gatlinburg is 2 lane, Pigeon Forge is 6 or more lanes through most of the city and has tons of eateries.
For the past 7 years or so, my other car group has done a run on the Tail of the Dragon (Deal's Gap). However, due to accidents, etc. the police have really cracked down and spirited driving so you have to be extremely cautious now. You can get some really awesome pics on the Dragon though.

Do they still have the free Trolleys that take you around Pigeon Forge and Gatlingburg? This area is very much like The Dells in Wisconsin. You should see that area in July/August. Talk about traffic
I'm gathering info, too, this weekend (via the web). Plan on posting some possiblities this coming week. Let us know if you have ideas, suggestions and/or preferences so we can make some educated decisions!
Question: How would people feel about doing dinner one night at The Dixie Stampede? This is a venue that serves dinner and provides entertainment -- specifically, a rodeo-style show. I've never been, but know a lot of people who have and most seem to have enjoyed it. They can accommodate large groups, so would be compatible with our meet. Yeah? Nay?
