Red face Hey, are those fires going to ruin the cruise.

Not being familiar with the area, the news looks pretty bleak for Santa Barbara.
The Santa Ana winds aren't a help either.

Solvang is to be in the low 80's and high 70's for the weekend. Is the fire going to be a problem though?

Everyone watching the news? That fire in Santa Barbara is getting more out of control every day. Bakersfield just dispatched a couple of their hotshot crews to assist.

Is the fire going to impact our route? Our visibility? It looks like it is about 10 miles further South of where we will be. Do a search of San Roque Canyon, Santa Barbara, CA on Google Maps.

This morning the hot spots looked pretty small, but not contained. This afternoon it really blew up and the smoke plume was huge, with what looked like 100 ft high flame bursts in the canyons. Some of the roads were a bit hectic with the mandatory evac area expanding quickly. As far as effect on the cruise, 101 through Santa Barbara on your way to Buellton could be affected. Smoke and fire are south (east) of where you will be touring. Check www.keyt.com for updates. They have had continuous live coverage all evening.
