What swirls? Maybe I need glasses but the last time @ Cisco's I checked your's, Todd's and Angie's rides --- 
I'm the one who has swirls
Kind of have mixed feelings about not being there. On the plus side I would've got some good first hand knowledge. On the negative side, you've would've seen my grumpy side..I used to be an instructor in a teacher/customer class setting and the number one thing no matter how bad your day is - never insult your students.

I agree Todd, he was a bit patronizing at times and has probably been teaching the class too long. He pushed the forum alot-perhaps they *should* just do something on line if all the answers are there!
We may not drive Corvettes but we still love our cars and want them to look nice.
I did learn some things and it seems he passionate about his work-but overall, it was the company I went for

I took it too personal when he told people to be quiet, or said bad things about the cars.. I will let it go now LOL, Todd (Uma)

Great pics Ang! I had a good time today. Just a little problem with the way that things were said..maybe just a little too bluntly. Mike is the man! no doubt. He is the best in the business, we are not, we try our best and do not need to be insulted. This is just me talking and in general not an opinion shared by SocalHHR's. Disclaimer said. You know that I could not leave it alone! I tried, I really did, but got to rant. If you teach a class like this, you need to know your students. You need to talk down to them, maybe not make them feel so inferior. Afterall, we are not rolling around in show cars. I personally did not want to ask any questions because I do not have 8 hours a day to dedicate to keeping up with the Meguiars forum and constantly being reminded that all our questions could be found by doing so! If I wanted to take an on-line class then I would not have spent my saturday being reminded that I could do it all on-line. I love the product, will continue to use it. But will not spend another saturday having my friend's cars ridaculed when they try so hard to keep them up. Sorry about the rant, just some of the comments rubbed me the wrong way. I have one SME(Subject Matter Expert) I work with that is a Lawyer who fully trained up and passed the Bar, then went into software. Can you imagine the way that he talks? I am one of the few people that can get along with him.
I was also watching Mike chafe against the restrictions in what he can teach, and what he has to cover for PR purposes. I was a trainer in the mid 80's and I had to talk the PR as well as train on the software.
Overall, I enjoyed the course, and what I learned. I also enjoyed comparing what I thought was a decent paint job versus what a pro would think. I need to re-evaluate my level of commitment to what this car will look like. Especially as it must be my primary daily driver first.
All in all, a good day.

Wow, I was feeling really bad about not making it today, but then I read Todd's post. Sounds like one of the more interesting get togethers, heck, does this guy also work for Sonic? LOL
Anyway, Friday night Liana and I had a LATE gig and didn't get home until 2:30am. Then we had another on Saturday night. I really hoped to have the energy to make it Saturday morning, we just couldn't do it.

It sounds like I'm very happy that I was not there. Information is good on a big plate, but some of us need to be spoon fed. I can't wait to see ya all in your shinnnnnnnny HHR's. I am glad that he said your car (Todd) was OK, ya.
Harvey knows he's not perfect, one of the reasons is these cars are driven EVERY day, no trailer queens.

Well, I tend to let things roll off my back. Overall I felt like I was in Mikes domain so it was his show. It was a lot on information to get out with an emphasis on promoting each product that Meguiars makes. Mike was doing his job, but I agree that he was rather abrupt at times and his comments were tough.
I knew I had issues with my paint, that is the very reason I wanted to attend this class. However, when Mike said that Uma's shine was OK? Todd your car was its usual flawless self.
I think that Mike has lost sight of the reality of daily drivers. Mike spends days on cars polishing them up for car shows and doing amazing work. Everything else he sees must look like crap to him. He could be a little more understanding to reugular folks.
I am glad I went, but it is clear that the SoCal crew are a bunch of rable rousers and don't take kindly to authority figures!
I think they all grew up in the '60s and 70's or something

Don, who's HHR looks AWESOME from 5 to 50' away. Maybe not so awesome from inside of 5'.
