2008 SS Timing Chain Time - GM or aftermarket?
Final update:
I had to reset my balancer tensioner. I noticed the ever popular whine especially when I reved the engine. Amazing how fast you can get to it after you've done it once! I suggest that you wait to pull the pin until you are ready to install the cover. Based on the increments of the tensioner and how much slop there is before it's released it appears it can go too far while you jostle the cam gears and crank.
Either way, it quiet now.

Hey, hey. Paul Tracy's from Oshawa. Maybe he has...
I actually met Paul's Dad in the GM plant there. Great dude. CAW Electrician, and he kept his stuff running. But I will let you Canucks settle it amongst yourselves.

no, but the chain on the non ac delco kit is 1/8” thinner and they can stretch. That was what we found with a cloyes kit. There was stretch on my friends chain with less than 5k on it. No issues on his delco one or any of mine. That’s just for LNF stuff. Cloyes would probably be fine on a base model, but most people don’t ever change base model timing components
my dad and my grandfather were CAW electricians in there and I had lots of family in other places in the plants. Sort of weird seeing it now that it’s closed
