5 Speed Driveline Lash

I have a 5-Speed '08 SS. Great Car....but from Day One it's had a great deal of driveline lash...and it's gotten worse.
I've been telling the dealer about it at every service call, but they've only gone as far as to acknowledge that some lash exists....but they claim they aren't in a position to confirm whether this is abnormal.
Honestly, I've never driven a manual-transmission vehicle with this much driveline lash.
Has anyone out there experienced this problem?

Well I'd have the engine mounts checked since they can give you some fairly violent driveline lash when the fail, Also I'd switch dealers, as I see a lot of people having issues with their SS's because the dealer can't handle a high performance vehicle.

When you lash a whip, its like that but in your drive train. It has slop before full engagement.

To be honest I never liked a FWD standard. Too many issues with mounts and stifters. I have found few cable shifters that ever held up long term.

Also it is not a easy home project to change a clutch at home.

I love to drive them on weekends but for a daily driver the auto is fine.

Lash is inherent with manual trannys, just like brake squeal with floating calipers. I agree with 843......check the very soft motor and tranny mounts. I swapped to TTR mounts at a low mileage and was amazed how soft (and cracked/torn) the stockers were.
