SS Specific Service Issues/RepairsService/Repairs specific to the SS. Turbo-Brembo Brakes-2.0 Engine-Limited Slip Differential-Programmable Display-MU3 Transmission
I have a 2008 SS. I keep having the check engine light come on and then the car wont start. Turn the key and nothing.
I do have power but it wont do anything not even start clicking like a dead battery would on some cars. I have already changed the battery and battery cord from the battery to the engine.
I have had a new clutch put in and the clutch position changed 5 times now.
The code that keeps coming up when it does this is always "Clutch position sensor" I have no clue what the actual code is.
I have taken it into my Fairway Chevy here in Las Vegas a good five times and they can't seem to find the issue.
I am assuming they are clearing the codes and then it will start but I keep having the issue.
If I remember right they said a wire was grounding so they replaced the wiring harness.
I am at a loss as to what to do when the Chevy dealership doesnt even know.
Don't they have anything on their computers where the mechanics nation wide can input on what to do with an issue?
Has anyone had the same issue?
If so what would you recommend as far as what to do next?
It just blows my mind Chevy doesnt know what it would be.
Any help would be appreciated and hope you had/are having a Happy Thanksgiving.

Reason: more accurate info
Get down to your nearest auto parts store, they should be able to pull the codes. Post it up here, the code only, not descriptions because they can be misleading.
It could be the clutch pedal position(ccp) sensor. It's located on the clutch pedal.
I am not sure what "What is the code "clutch sensor" is the title of the code and does not mean a thing." even means. Are you asking me what the code is? I have no idea thats what they told me that kept coming up was the "Clutch sensor" as far as the code that kept coming up. THe auto parts place told me the same thing. I dont have a reader so I have no idea how to even find out what the actual code is.
Yes its the clutch position sensor my bad. I would LOVE to be able to drive it down to the nearest auto parts place and get the actual code. But I am asking the question because it happened again and my car is stuck in my driveway.
The clutch position sensor I have replaced 5 times now because thats what they keep saying is wrong. They had said that maybe I wasnt pushing the clutch in far enough which made me laugh considering I have been driving a stick and racing for 20 years so know how to work a clutch
"What is the code?" means what is the code number, there are several that have "clutch pedal" in the title of the code. I can't help if you can't help.
My generic first thought is to disconnect the ECM and look at the connector for bent, loose pushed through pins.
I'll get the code from the chevy dealership when I take it in yet again. I would drive it down and get the codes but its having the issue now so wont start.
