For me the OEM failed and leaked after a few months , I installed a Gates and it leaked immediately, I installed a GMB and it’s good!

While you’re at it change the timing and balance shaft chains

Its on FB & IG it must be true.
The weep hole is on the top in a recess, takes a lot to drip, gravity being real. Older cars had the weep hole on the bottom so you could use dripping as an indicator of a bad bearing.

Hmm ok thanks for the info guys.

As far as fb and ig, I asked on the fb group and a few of my ig friends have mechanical experience so I trust their advice. Not saying anyone could know what it is without looking but you know...

I'm assuming its possible it could be a water pump gasket then. But sounds like its not the weep hole.

What all parts do I need with the water pump? I see some have case, gasket, timing chain sprocket.

I will probably look into a dewalt or ryobi inspection camera since I have those battery packs and an adapter so I can get a look and see where its coming from.

My father has an old radiator pressure tester from 1970 but I need an adpater for our vehicles cap to work. Any thoughts on this? I figure it would squirt out and probably tell us where the leak is coming from a little better, assuming it's not just still blocked by something else.

If you guys send links I will order whatever is suggested. The car starts and idles and drives pretty good so I want to fix it up and get it running as good as possible.

I'll probably flush the radiator and associated lines and get new hoses as well.

I did notice some lifter ticking but could be something else.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Probably not a lifter ticking. The LNF high pressure fuel system in the SS is noisy. Lots of loud “ticking” sounds from the mechanical fuel pump(located at the end of valve cover) and the fuel injectors themselves. If you still think it’s a valve noise, then I would suspect a worn out timing chain/broken tensioner.
Especially at that high mileage on your car.

Timing chain kit 9-4201SX doesn’t include sprockets, good, cause the 2.0 uses a different sprocket on the crankshaft, so reuse yours
Balance shaft kit 9-4202SX also no sprockets .
