What sort of issues prompted this attempt at a fix? My HHR is at the dealership now because of boost issues that happen intermittently. Basically it is a loss of boost pressure and the car seems to stall when accelerating. Overall acceleration seems less than even before I had the stage kit installed. One dealership that looked at it said if it keeps happening they will look into replacing the Wastegate Solenoid. I told this to the service writer and even showed them the service sheet from the other dealership where they noted that. I am at a loss to why it is happening and the dealership says they cannot recreate the problem and the car seems normal.

From what I have seen if the connections are bad they surge and are uneven in acceleration.

Now if they Boost dies and then comes back under hard acceleration it often is the lower T map hitting the AC and kicking the boost out. It is like the waste gate is opening at a lower boost and kills the boost.

There seem to be two different issues and they both act a little different. Both seem to be able to be resolved.

For like the last week the car has been bogging when im cruisin and then go to hit the gas. Doesn't matter how light i do it. I have to push the clutch in and then rev it and match the gear to the rev. Its a pain in the ass. Then i got code P0101 and lost boost, cleared the code with my interceptor and its all good. Local dealer by my house wont touch the car when the light isnt on but the guys at Rockenbach know me and my car and they will take care of it for me. Ive had the stage kit for almost 2 years now with no problems. It just started

I have had luck getting the boost to kick out with putting the engine under added stress like blasting the AC and on the hot summer days the car started with no boost at all. When it does go out it does not come back until the car is shut off and rests a little while. I brought the car in with the problem as I turned the AC on full and gave it a lot of gas. I even showed the service writer there was no boost while the car was parked in the garage. He wouldnt go for a road test because they are backed up. They called me twice and said they cannot recreate the problem but they are calling GM corporate because they know there is a problem but they cannot find it.

Bob , you need to get them out for a road test with you and a tech in the car... demand it. If they can't do it now, get it scheduled. That is how I got things rolling to get my car fixed when I had boost issues. The dealer I went to was actually very good about getting that set up once I asked them. Actually they had just given me the car back saying it was fixed. I proceeded to flog it for 15 mins, cause the problem and brought it right back. They got the tech out there and he took it for a spin with me and discussed the problem further with me. They weren't able to dig into it any more that day but following that the tech understood what was happening and was able to successfully troubleshoot it.

Problems I've had.
1. Surging when driving.
2. Low or no boost
3. CEL on and then goes away after a day or so.
4. Hit rough road and started to sputter.
5. Sitting at a Light you can watch the boost gauge and RPM gauge go up and down.
6. While driving you can watch and sometimes hear the boost leak out.
7. Cold starts almost sounds like misfiring
8. Would be driving and lose all boost and all of a sudden it will come back.

I drove home and not one issue. Even had to pull some haul ass passing. Like I said, Im knocking on wood but from what I know, it usually takes about a day or 2 to act up again. So tomorrow will be a test. So far so good.

Oh and I tested the connectors I cut off and and 2 of the connectors had resistance between side. 1.57, .9, and only one was 0.00. on the multimeter.

Well next time they call I am doing exactly that. Rockenbach did it with no hassle and that is when they got the overboost code and adjusted the wastegate and said if it happens again it is most likely a problem in the wastegate solenoid. I don't want to be that ******* customer but I am rapidly losing my patience. This dealership has always taken care of me in the past but I am thinking they just do not know my car very well.

1. Surging when driving. Experienced this
2. Low or no boost. Experienced this
3. CEL on and then goes away after a day or so. Have not seen any CEL lights.
4. Hit rough road and started to sputter. Not this either
5. Sitting at a Light you can watch the boost gauge and RPM gauge go up and down. definitely this one, but only a few times
6. While driving you can watch and sometimes hear the boost leak out. I have heard what sounds like a whistling or squeal when accelerating
7. Cold starts almost sounds like misfiring Not this one
8. Would be driving and lose all boost and all of a sudden it will come back. When the boost goes it does not come back unless I shut the car off and let it cool down. A few times it did not come back until the next day
