Doing timing, work, balance, chain, crankshaft sprocket at 11 o’clock
The key should be a 12 o'clock. The mark should be at about 5:00.
There is a link to FREE service manuals in my sig.
I have never seen a 2.0 sprocket but, the2.2/2.4 does not have springs.
Here is a pdf of the procedure:

Unlike oldblue I didnt cut my front timing cover gasket meaning I removed the engine mount! UGH! I had forgot which bolts went where ( 3 of them , 1 short )
Thank you so much!

Steve
it has a GM part number that yields a service site with the part but it’s discontinued. I guess you could find them in a junk yard. But it would have to be the SS. All the kits have the wrong sprocket.
Happy to report that my little SS is back up and running! Fired right up. Only complaint is a slight rumble, sometimes, after a short rev, it stutters a little bit. threw several codes earlier, timing advanced, etc. but one of the VVT solenoid’s wasn’t fully plugged in.
Could you clarify the above statement? I don’t understand. And, can you do this job without removing the engine mount?
Remember to put SS in your profile. It’s important!
I posted years ago about cutting the timing chain cover gasket. Eliminating the need to remove the engine mount bracket bolted to the engine, it is not that much to remove the 3 bolts
