Unhappy Engine overheating

well, first problem with my SS. Car overheated on the way home and just for peace of mind took it the dealer to report the problem. They found the water pump was leaking. I'm now driving a loner until my car has the pump replaced. 45350 miles on vehicle and this is the first problem(not Bad)Any other pump failures?

I’m sorry to read about the water pump going on your HHR, frenchyforet. On the other hand, I’m very happy to read the dealership is taking care of the vehicle and you with a loaner. Please, let me know how things go when you get the vehicle back.

the waterpump is covered by General Motors 5 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. so, depending on what date your car was sold as new, it might still be within the 5 year period.

Ask the tech at the dealership what he thinks went wrong - GM put a lot of time into the LNF and it just seems odd it died so early (mileage wise).

not only early but the blower wasn't working and they're trying to find out if the problems are related

You got lucky. The dealer didn't want to fix my HHR "Unable to reproduce excuse" until after the warranty was up. Chevy + Arizona = Horrible everything. Sold the HHR because of that.
