That response from GM is ridiculous and unacceptable. I would not let this situation end here. As stated previously lawyer up and make a stink.

Aggressive driving huh? Well, there will be a bunch of us HHR's in the Pigeon Forge area tomorrow...... I'll let you know if my airbags go off on "The Dragon".

Seriously.... we drive the dragon every couple of weeks, as it is only a half-hour away. I have over 50K on my car, and drive it hard into the hairpins, tires squeeling in and out of the corners, and never even an ESC or TC light, and anyone who has driven those 318 corners can verify that some of those 180's are damn near 20 degrees off horizontal.

So from someone who lives near one of the best driving roads on the planet...

Hire a lawyer! and look under the bowtie for a toyota sticker

yep what they said

Sorry about what happened, but you deserve better than the way GM is treating you. I still miss the functionality of my SS, but I'm glad I don't have to deal with GM as a company anymore.

I can't remember, but weren't you able to drive after the airbags were deployed? Shouldn't the fuel system cut off? I could be wrong.

Airbag deployment doesn't kill the fuel pump, but there is a separate roll sensor that will kill the fuel flow, probably calibrated to different parameters.

Putting on my lawyer hat for a moment, please talk to an attorney hodor, they'll work with you. Despite the jokes, and the bad reputation that is well deserved in some cases, lawyers really do have your interests at heart...and we work our butts off for our clients.

re

typical response from GM with no professional represenatation...

in the music business we call this "posturing" - when approached with representation the posture will usally change depending on your tenacity

Since this is a corner you drive often, does this mean GM is saying every time you take that particular corner at speed your air bags are going to deploy? I wonder what they would say if it happened again and again and again because its a road you drive often?

I know I bought the SS to drive fast both straight and in corners. If the roll over sensor might trigger when taking a corner at speed while the vehicle is stable it defeats the purpose of selling it as a performance vehicle.
