hhr ss ticking time bomb??
Like many of you, I have owned many different cars, Celica GTS, Mitsubishi Evolution, 05 GTO 6sp, and I have concluded that all brands and models have issues. I swore years ago that I would never buy anything but a car manufactured in Japan, now I am driving a HHR SS and an 09 Solstice GXP Coupe.
To date the best car we have owned is my wife's 05 Mitsubishi Montero Limited which is now at 150k, needing only brakes, tires, timing belt and fluid changes. The Monty only went back to the dealer once and that was for the timing belt change at 120k. Lately we have been FourWheeling the snot out of it in VT and NH.
Too bad they dont import Montero's anymore or I would be buying our fourth Montero Limited (not to be confused with a Montero Sport) My conclusion is, that it is the luck of the draw, mods, abuse and personal maintenance that determine a vehicle's reliability. How many Benz's and Audi's do you see with one brake light permanantly on? After a hundred years why cant they get a tail light to work right on a $65k car?
I was just thinking the other day that I just may keep my HHR SS for 250k miles or whenever it destructs....our HHR SS has been very reliable and driven enthusiastically.
