I just replaced mine for an "overboost" condition, but the more common symptom is under or no boost due to a cracked fitting.

My Stage 1 car had this similar problem last week. I would have no boost for the first 20 miles or so in the morning and then once the car got hot I had boost. The dealer traced the issue to a crack in the wastegate actuator housing. This item is not covered under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty if you can believe that. I had to pay my deductible under my extended warranty. G.B.

Well I'll join in this thread...

Monday... drove to work... no problems
Left work 2 hours later to go to another location, nothing over 5.7# in all gears. Even thru a key cycle. Drove a bit like this. Turned off car again (2nd time).
Left the powder coating shop, same thing, turned a corner... boost was back.
Got off the highway, 5.7# boost in 1st gear fine in all others.
Day later, numerous key cycles, still low boost in 1st, fine in all others.

WTF over!

Car has stage 1, stock air filter/box/tubes.

Dropped it off at the dealership.

The lower map sensor from the intercooler to intake?? or do you mean the wiring to it?

I agree.

But seriously... a bad sensor in 9k miles. And why only in first gear?

May not be a bad wire per say but if you get on it the engine torques up and the connector get smashed into the compressor. This can force a short or disconnect.

The wires on mine looked fine but the connector would come up and hit and it just would kill the power till we shimmed the IC forward to give it clearance.

I also had convoluted tubing over the wires and it still did it.

I suspect as engine mounts get older and the engine comes up highter more will have contact issues.

But it doesn't kill my turbo... it wont allow it to get over like 5.7#
